Hello everyone! No, I didn't forget about my promise to blog! The internet situation in CA was not conducive to posting. But now, as of yesterday, I am in Japan!! Yay! I flew in around 3:00 p.m. and was greeted by 2 of the people from the school, Mr. Gomi and John, and my intern partner, Andi. We drove to Matsudo, took a little tour of the school and where we will be working, grabbed some delicious Japanese dinner, did a little grocery shopping and then settled into our apartments. I promptly passed the heck out. I start work tomorrow, and I can't wait! I'm so excited to meet the staff and students I'll be working with and get familiar with what I'll be doing. I'm planning on going out and getting some things to help me organize my space a little bit better today. I can't wait to get out and explore the area around my apartment!! Then this evening I'm going to meet up with my sister and we're going to get some food and play Settlers(my favorite board game) with her roommates! I'm going to TRY to update around 2 to 3 times a week. I took some pictures of my apartment to give you an idea of how I'm living over here!
This is the view from my front door:
My lovely washing machine!
My stove, sink and cabinet space:
My fridge, microwave and shelves:
The bathroom:
When you flush the toilet, water runs from the little faucet.
My shower room:
Sink and tub:
My dryer is a vent that you put on a certain setting and hang your clothes in the shower room for them to dry. Pretty cool:
My room:
My closet and the heater:
This thing is awesome! It's an intercom so that I can see and talk with whoever's at the front door:
My computer area and shelves, and the stairs to my bed:
My bed with storage underneath:
My little stairs to my bed open up for storage as well. Ingenious!
My bed with some little shelves:
For a little apartment, it's pretty darn awesome. Wood floors, and tons of storage! Well, I had better go and get my day started! Lots of little adventures to go on!
